THE CHRISTMAS SCHEDULE

Sandra Bramwell

So, classes have ended for the term..we will resume 2nd Saturday in January.

Will the office be closed? No. We will remain open till December 23. We will reopen Dec 27th thru December 30, 2023.

Then Happy New Year wishes, goodbye to 2023 and hello 2024.

Of course, we will still be consulting, registering and setting up new classes.

NEW IDEAS FOR 2024

We are going to be investing our students' time in doing more research to impress college admissions. It is like writing an excellent essay that exposes the student better.

We are also going to introduce more of AI in our college planning.

New York City will see a grand expansion of Versan.

We are partnering with those smart tech guys in India and doing more personalized digital testing for SAT. Teachers to be trained during the Christmas season for the new cohort in January.

I am terribly excited about 2024. It is also my year of the Dragon.....so we pull out all the stops!

GRINCH

I am usually the Grinch about Christmas, so I wish everyone, Happy Holidays. Happy Hanukkah, love Diwali, Chinese New Year, all African celebrations, and all others I have missed, Season's Greetings!

The blog takes a break, but comes roaring back early January.

Blessings to all our readers...

We will update the acceptance list, fear not.

See you in 2024. Thanks for being great students and parents.

Early Decision I Update

Dear Sandra, I hope you are well and that the fall semester has been kind to you and your colleagues. I write with an update on our Early Decision I round, which I hope will be helpful to you as you counsel your students. ED I applicants will be notified of our decisions via their Applicant Status Portal tomorrow evening, December 5. Admitted students with United States permanent mailing addresses will also receive notification in the mail. Admitted students with permanent addresses overseas, and those not earning admission, will receive electronic notification only. The Early Decision I applicant pool at Boston College remains strong. From a pool of more than 2,800, we expect to welcome approximately 960 students via EDI, including 115 students who matched with Boston College via QuestBridge. Admitted students hail from 45 US states, 3 territories, and 32 countries. Given the timing of the FAFSA Simplification Act implementation, students admitted to Boston College through Early Decision I and II will receive tentative aid awards based on our review of their CSS Profile. Awards amounts will be accurate, but will lack specific funding sources until students complete the FAFSA. Boston College will then provide detailed financial aid awards by April 1, 2024. We invite you to learn more here. The Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program selection process is underway for all students who applied by the November 1 Priority Scholarship Deadline. In mid-January, we will notify 65-70 students of their status as finalists; the remaining students will be notified of our admission decisions in March. As a reminder, our deadline for Early Decision II and Regular Decision applicants is January 2nd. Please note that Regular Decision candidates who wish to convert their applications to ED II should contact us via email (admission@bc.edu) by Friday, January 5. I will be back in touch with you in early February with an update on our Early Decision II results. Until then, on behalf of the Office of Undergraduate Admission, I wish you a happy, healthy, and restful holiday season. Sincerely, Amy Chung Associate Director Office of Undergraduate Admission

Dear Sandra, Did you know that any student who applies for financial aid from WashU is given a fee waiver on their admission application? That's only one of the ways WashU is improving access and affordability for all students. Let us tell you more:

Please share this information with your students who may be interested in joining our community and encourage them to learn more about affordability at WashU. If you or your students have any questions, please feel free to contact our Student Financial Services team at financial@wustl.edu, 314-935-5900, or 888-547-6670—we are here to help!
